When I moved to Arkansas from Puerto Rico, kids in school laughingly would ask me: "Did you swim here?" "How long did it take you?" I laughingly with broken English said: "no I came in a plane."  This painting explores the isolation felt by migrants and the burning desire and hopefulness towards inclusion.
