My son and husband, who are both lovers of all things science, tell me that the discovery of the Higgs Boson (god particle) in 2013 was a big deal.  This particle was predicted by physicists in the 1960’s but only proven to exist in recent years. Throughout time, scientists have wondered how particles acquired mass and found the Higgs field created by these particles makes it possible.  As I worked on this piece, I sought to represent that the god particles of our civilized world are written words.  They make up our religious texts, constitutions, contracts, deeds, licenses, emails, love letters, and all major communications.  Written words are the latticework, the structure that make most all of our meaningful connections possible.
