Still StrongPastel, image transfer on board 40" x 32" 2015 *Pricing available upon request When I was a freshman in college, an unthinkable tragedy occurred. My dear friend, April, was killed in a car wreck. She was extraordinary, a ray of sunshine driving crazily in her yellow VW Bug and jamming to The Cure. She taught me English and, more importantly, how to apply mascara. Her spirit was like a tree: wild, deep rooted, providing shade and shelter for those she loved. To this very day, we feel her influence and presence. This painting explores how such transformative human connections have an impact on our lives. |
