I was drawn to paint Jesal after seeing her warm smile on social media. When we met, her regal appearance, with this beautiful gown and intricate jewelry, left me eager (and admittedly a little intimidated) to capture her elegance on paper.
She spoke proudly about her Indian heritage, sharing her culture's deep respect for education and the sacrifices families make for their children's education. That cultural mindset fueled her ambition to become a doctor. "I am labeled as timid, unconfident, and unable to make quick decisions. But I see myself as kind, driven, vibrant, and energetic." In her, I found not just a subject to paint but a story of resilience and determination.
