Into The Woods

Each spring and fall, as the trees undergo their transformation and the forests are cast in an every-changing array of color, I observe, entranced, as the woodland vistas beckon me to come closer and experience their beauty. My fascination with the woods leads me to meander along country roads, camera in hand, searching for peaceful moments that can only be experienced while standing alone in a forest.  The forest’s light with its warm, abundant color overwhelms my senses and allows me to experience a sense of freedom like no other. Guided by nostalgia and a wandering spirit, I look for places rarely visited, untouched spaces that create a sense of mystery and awe.  As I traverse these woodlands, the hidden beauty and intrigue revealed in the tangled, imperfect treescapes are my soul’s rewards. The woods draw me in, cause me to linger, and be still. These are the moments I paint. 

In this series, these works beckon the viewer’s eye into the woods, to share with me the discoveries and secrets revealed on these inspirational wanderings.
