Distant Memory
Pastel, image transfer on board 18" x 18" 2015 Private Collection As a teen, I lived on a farm near the outskirts of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico surrounded by dark green sugar cane fields. We grew and raised much of our own food, therefore, I had many chores like gathering eggs from chicken coops, planting banana trees, and milking our cows. Those distant memories remind me to relish the simple things in life: hard work, family, and wide-open spaces. |
