At the FencePastel on suede paper 14" x 14" 2016 Private Collection When my kids were little, I had a wonderful elderly neighbor named Mrs. Dorothy who lived right behind us. On days when I was finding a hard time adjusting to motherhood, she would call and say, "Honey, when they are napping, come meet me at the fence." Sometimes she gave me tomatoes or a jar of jelly, but our conversations are what I remember most. This painting celebrates her wisdom, ability to always help me put things in perspective, and our meeting place. |
