This is Samantha, most people call her Sam. When she walked through my studio door with her dazzling red dress and shiny dancing shoes, I was over the moon! I fell in love with her soft flowing curls, radiating golden undertones, and captivating cheeks. She is a devoted nurse, the kind of friend you have for life, a proud half South Korean and half African American and, last but certainly not least, a mesmerizing dancer. As we got acquainted she shared that people label her as reserved and she finds that fascinating because she performs in front of people often.
I played my favorite salsa music and asked her to forget I was there; to be one with the music. Her shoes kept getting caught in my painter's tarp, but that didn’t stop her from zoning out and showing me her moves. I had such fun working to do justice to the beauty of her movement!
