Maximiliano is a young, creative, passionate entrepreneur interested in art, fashion, and ideation. I first met him at the Innovation Hub and was instantly drawn to his long, dark, silky hair that reminded me of the famous romance novel model Fabio -- I had never created a portrait that emphasized someone's hair and began brainstorming unique composition possibilities.
He walked into my studio holding a dozen dead roses and a few small chains, and my interest instantly peaked. As we began to talk, he expressed that he is an easily moved, compassionate, and kind person but oftentimes he's labeled for going against the grain, and he doesn't understand why.
With that in mind, for this piece I decided to focus on the kind, passionate side of Maxi he wishes people would see. To do this, I rendered his facial features and hair with great detail and placed less emphasis on the roses and chains by lightly drawing them in. Finally, I used red and turquoise colors to speak to his Argentinian heritage. Overall, this piece is a homage to Maxi's Spanish roots and his kind heart.
