Hope springs eternalPastel on sanded paper
12" x 16" 2015 Private Collection Returning home to South Arkansas was always something I looked forward to when I was in college. As soon as I hit the two-lane road from the freeway, the trees seemed taller, the houses got smaller and the land was flattened by logging. The change in landscape meant new trees would be soon growing, and I would soon be home! This painting was inspired by those tall pines growing along Hwy 167 because they signaled that home, comfort, and good things were just around the corner. |
